About the Artist
I began Welding and fabricating at a very early age, in my Father’s Welding and Blacksmithing business. My Father was a brilliant fabricator and inventor. His business was called Pioneer Welding and Fabrication, in Price, Utah. Like many young boys, I started out by sweeping floors, cleaning bathrooms and other such dubious tasks. I learned how to appreciate work, and skill. I loved making things. I learned that the more you learned, the better you were and more in demand you would be.
I always wanted to make my Father proud of what I could do, so I started to learn how to weld and cut metal by the time I was about 10. I also had two older brothers that were extremely talented at fabrication and were amazing artists in their own right. This was really inspiring to me. I wanted to be like them. They were 14 and 17 years older than me, and taught me many things about, art, and Metal fabrication techniques.
I have spent my entire life doing what I enjoy and am good at. For that, I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to create worthwhile, sculptural works, along with custom architectural items, like Beautiful staircases, lighting, furniture, and almost any request that any client can make. My work has led to many large and small commissions locally and worldwide. It has provided me a great career, so that I could raise a family and be able to enjoy many amenities of life. I have had so many great and prestigious awards, and commissions to add to my portfolio. I always called it, “Making Tracks”.
I have always believed that we have all been given special talents that I call “Gifts”. Those gifts are given to us to share with the world, and find ways that those gifts can better mankind. I have found that if we enthusiastically strive to find those strengths, that doors will open and we will see more clearly our direction and focus. The rewards will always be great.
