About the Artist
"I wanted a simple piece of art. Monochrome, highly textured...that would come alive with the right lighting. So, I grabbed one of my Mom's old canvas, a tub of spackle, a butter knife and my Grandma's crochet hook. I literally sat on the kitchen floor for hours and played until I reached the desired affect. That was more than a decade ago and I haven't stopped.
My Mom painted with oils...mostly landscapes. My Grandmother was an Art Teacher...loved florals. Although I watched and learned from them, I was never truly inspired. Until that day. I have since traded the butter knife for sculpting tools. Spackle is a mainstay. The crochet hook? I still use it...to sign my name!"
